Stainless steel material introduction:
1. Stainless steel alloy 303:a popular free-machining alloy (FMA), ideal for parts that require extensive machining. It offers good corrosion resistance, withstands heat well, and can be finished to a high polish. 303 is not magnetic.
2. Stainless steel alloy 304:an extremely popular low-cost alloy, ideal for parts that require forming or welding. It has excellent corrosion, oxidation, and heat resistance and is the most weldable of any steel alloy. 304 is not magnetic.
3. Stainless steel alloy 316: an extremely popular alloy, ideal for parts that require heat and corrosion resistance. It has very similar properties to 304, but possesses an even higher corrosion resistance, making it suitable for laboratory, medical, and marine environments. 316 is not magnetic.
4. Stainless steel alloy 430FR: a free-machining solenoid quality alloy, ideal for parts that require corrosion resistance and high electrical resistivity. It has excellent corrosion resistance in freshwater, gaseous, moderately acidic, and low chlorine environments. 430FR’s high silicon levels give it increased hardness, decreased deformation from impact, and increased magnetic characteristics.
5. Stainless steel alloy 440:a high-carbon alloy, ideal for parts that require hardness and strength. It has the highest wear resistance, hardness, and strength of any stainless steel alloy. 440 is not recommended for elevated temperatures or environments that may have severe corrosion.
